According to Hindu mythology, Lord Krishna killed the evil Holika on a full-moon day (known as Poornima in Nepali). Hence, this festival is known as Fagu Poornima as well as Holi.
People play with colours (colour powder or coloured water) or even plain water throughout the day. Special Fagu celebrations include musical programs on local TV channels and radio stations, bars and other places.
It is a fun time for everybody and visitors are welcome to join the celebration.
