On this day, animals are sacrificed in front of the vehicles, weapons, other instruments, or whatever tools people primarily use in their daily life, depending on their occupation. The Nepalese Army offers official sacrifices in the altar established in the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Since the foreigners are allowed in the ritual, diplomats and foreign tourists throng the site on this occasion.

In addition to performing these common rituals, Newar communities offer sacrifices to their deities today.
