The Shanker Hotel was converted from a palace to a business class hotel in 1964 after an extensive renovation of its interiors so as to adopt contemporary styles. However, its original French architecture and exterior design were retained. The exuberantly used crafts of wood and metal match its splendour and so does the meticulously designed garden.

- Normally, check-outs delayed upto 6 hours will encounter 50% of 1 night's charges. Any longer delay is subject to a surcharge equivalent to 1 night's charges.
- Children under 12 years of age are allowed to share rooms/beds with their parents.
- A maximum of 2 children per room can share rooms/beds with their parents.

- Cancellations are subject to a 10% cancellation charge.
- A cancellation made less than 24 hours from the scheduled arrival date is subject to a cancellation/no-show charge equivalent to 10% of the booking amount or charges for 1 night, whichever is greater.
- All rates are displayed in US Dollars.
- Rates are inclusive of all taxes and service charges in accordance to the existing laws of Nepal.
