The operator of this tour sees environmental pollution as a growing threat to many potential destinations in Nepal. Therefore, all the employees have been clearly instructed to help address this issue. On excursions, the guides encourages and even helps the participants to collect used bottles, cans, batteries and other solid wastes so that they can be disposed properly at designated sites.
Most of the guides, drivers and porters employed come from indigenous ethnic groups, in accordance to the company policy of promoting such groups.
Feeling that conservation of cultural heritage and historical monuments in every destination is equally necessary, the company has been regularly donating to the local clubs or projects committed to the same cause.
You will get an opportunity to interact with local people and visit local craftsmen at work by going on any excursion organised by this responsible operator. You will also get to learn a great deal about the people and places you visit from the free brochures and booklets distributed.

Meet Rajendra Prasad Sapkota and Outdoor Himalayan Treks, your local connection in Kathmandu. Starting as a young porter, Rajendra has all the local knowledge that will make your trip to Kathmandu life changing. With us, visitors experience remote villages, meet local people, and gain insight into our culture. We support local villages, and have even built a local orphanage to house and educate displaced, and often outcast, children. We hope to bring you a journey that will be enriching, but will also help those in need in Kathmandu.
