Envirionmental and social
Embarking on this tour, travellers will not only get a chance to interact with locals, but our specially trained guides ensure that your journey leaves no traces, so all waste and refuse is collected and disposed of appropriately, so as to protect the amazing environment you will be part of.
On the tour, as much local food as possible is made available to guests, and they are strongly encouraged to try and sample as much of the local fare as possible. This also means being part of this tour is directly providing a sustainable income for local villages along the route. Guests are also encouraged to bring along any spare books and stationery, which they can give directly to some of the impoverished children, greatly assisting with education in these remote areas.

Meet Rajendra Prasad Sapkota and Outdoor Himalayan Treks, your local connection in Kathmandu. Starting as a young porter, Rajendra has all the local knowledge that will make your trip to Kathmandu life changing. With us, visitors experience remote villages, meet local people, and gain insight into our culture. We support local villages, and have even built a local orphanage to house and educate displaced, and often outcast, children. We hope to bring you a journey that will be enriching, but will also help those in need in Kathmandu.
