Krishna Gopal Shrestha
Hotel Tradition is owned and managed by Krishna Gopal Shrestha and his family. Krishna started this hotel in February of 2000. Narayan Shrestha is in charge of operations while Bishan Shrestha is the general manager. The Shresthas are really wonderful hosts, always trying to find time for their guests and to make sure their stay is comfortable and pleasurable.
Krishna also specialises in Thanka (traditional paintings inspired by Buddhism) production. His own company, Everest Thanka, manufactures showcases and sells high-quality Thankas in the domestic as well as international market. He has exhibited his fabulous collection in different countries in Asia, Europe and North America.
The hosts of this hotel have one thing in common - their deep-rooted concern for communal welfare. From the profits generated by their businesses, they are providing financial aid to a school at Nayabazar.
They are also funding a non-profit organisation which approaches local communities and gets them involved in different cultural and religious activities in order to keep the traditions alive. Interested guests are encouraged to observe such activities and to interact with the locals.
Furthermore, the Shresthas are always welcoming towards those willing to observe the various operations at Everest Thanka, a completely child-safe workplace where talented but destitute local artists are given priority for employment.

Meet Rajendra Prasad Sapkota and Outdoor Himalayan Treks, your local connection in Kathmandu. Starting as a young porter, Rajendra has all the local knowledge that will make your trip to Kathmandu life changing. With us, visitors experience remote villages, meet local people, and gain insight into our culture. We support local villages, and have even built a local orphanage to house and educate displaced, and often outcast, children. We hope to bring you a journey that will be enriching, but will also help those in need in Kathmandu.
