With a wide-angle view of the Himalayas right in front plus that of the Kavrepalanchowk Valley below, The Dwarika's Himalayan Shangri-la Village Resort lies at an altitude of 1,700 m. It also happens to be the best point for viewing beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the locality.
This eco-friendly resort can be compared to a private nature park with cascades, pools and a host of wildlife including birds, butterflies, dears, etc. The design and layout aspects are equally outstanding and priority is given to free space.
That is to say, with 36 rooms in 9 villas in its 20 acres of woodland, the resort provides probably the largest private space instead of encaging you and your desires. You may literally spread your wings and fly - there will be no barriers in your way.
The architecture of the buildings is a cent per cent depiction of that Newars and Gurungs, two culturally rich ethnic groups of Nepal. Sculptures done by local craftsmen in wood, metal and stone have been lavishly used in the buildings as well as the gardens and pathways.

Meet Rajendra Prasad Sapkota and Outdoor Himalayan Treks, your local connection in Kathmandu. Starting as a young porter, Rajendra has all the local knowledge that will make your trip to Kathmandu life changing. With us, visitors experience remote villages, meet local people, and gain insight into our culture. We support local villages, and have even built a local orphanage to house and educate displaced, and often outcast, children. We hope to bring you a journey that will be enriching, but will also help those in need in Kathmandu.
