Environmental - Waste reduction and management
Social - Supporting education of deprived children
Your hosts at the academy believe that the key to healthy living is a healthy environment. We believe this cannot be attained with mere advocacy but long sighted efforts from individuals are needed at large.
In order to preserve the natural environment of our facility, we have decided to ban the use of plastic bags, which significantly reduces waste reduction. Further, we are collecting and reusing waste water in their farms where fruits and vegetables are grown organically. Willing participants are encouraged to learn such techniques or share their own. You can even join one of our plantation campaigns during your visit.
The academy is concerned about social welfare, which can only be realised through proper education. To help this cause, we donate 5% of our profits to local non-profit organisations that are educating children from deprived communities in the neighbourhood.

Meet Rajendra Prasad Sapkota and Outdoor Himalayan Treks, your local connection in Kathmandu. Starting as a young porter, Rajendra has all the local knowledge that will make your trip to Kathmandu life changing. With us, visitors experience remote villages, meet local people, and gain insight into our culture. We support local villages, and have even built a local orphanage to house and educate displaced, and often outcast, children. We hope to bring you a journey that will be enriching, but will also help those in need in Kathmandu.
