S P Shrestha
Your host S P Shrestha will be glad to share a few words and experiences with you during teatime. In no time you will find yourself chatting with him not just about what led him to hospitality business or his futures plans on ecotourism, but also about your own adventures.SP is a poplular figure in Dhulikhel, especially amongst the children of Naya Gaun, a small village, where he founded a school named 'Seto Gurans Bal Batika' a few years ago.
Enironmental - Forest conservation
Social - Financially supporting a school
Unplanned deforestation has proven to impact the environment adversely, and in a developing country like Nepal, the results are even harsher. The hosts of this resort cannot afford to let that happen in their pristine locality. Therefore, we have been protecting more than 15,000 sq. metres of a nearby green forest against all sorts of invasions.
Measures are being taken to conserve the resources like this so that future generations can enjoy these too. We have been training local people, employing selected ones, and spreading awareness through the rest.
The resort is raising funds and providing financial aid to the school founded and chaired by SP Shrestha. Staying with these self-motivated people will give you a chance to get an insight of how big changes originate from small steps taken one at a time. We will be happy to show you what we are doing and how. And if you really care, we will be happier to learn any of your own ideas that could possibly better this destination and its vicinity.

Meet Rajendra Prasad Sapkota and Outdoor Himalayan Treks, your local connection in Kathmandu. Starting as a young porter, Rajendra has all the local knowledge that will make your trip to Kathmandu life changing. With us, visitors experience remote villages, meet local people, and gain insight into our culture. We support local villages, and have even built a local orphanage to house and educate displaced, and often outcast, children. We hope to bring you a journey that will be enriching, but will also help those in need in Kathmandu.
