Although Tribhuvan International Airport, the only international airport in Nepal, is less than 8 kilometers from city centre, there is no easy route. You have to rely on the knowledge and experience of a local driver to endure as less congestion as possible. Likewise, you need a properly maintained vehicle to have a comfortable trip. You are likely to hate the idea of bargaining with the standby taxis.
